2016-2017 PRCC Dormitory Holiday Closings

  • November 21-25 (Thanksgiving Break) Dorm will close on Friday, November 18th at 4:00pm and open on Sunday, November 27th at 1:00pm
  • December 12-January 6 (Winter Break) Dorm will close on Friday, December 9th at 4:00pm and open Sunday, January 8th at 1:00pm
  • March 13-17 (Spring Break) Dorm will close Friday, March 10th at 4:00pm and open Sunday, March 19th at 1:00pm
  • April 13 (Good Friday-Easter Break) Dorm will close Thursday, April 12th at 4:00pm and open Sunday, April 15th at 5:00pm
  • Note: All dormitory students MUST leave campus for the holidays listed above. If there is an issue with a student leaving during the holiday, he/she must complete a holiday dorm request form. The form can be accessed in Riverguide under the student housing link. Forms are also available in the Office of Residence Life. The Office of Residence Life will evaluate the reasoning given and let the student know if they are approved or denied.

Residence Hall Supervisors & Resident Assistants (RA's)

Residence Hall Supervisors (Head Residents) and Resident Assistants are PRCC employees and student staff members who live on every floor of each residence hall. These individuals are responsible for providing a safe and comfortable living environment, enforcing the rules and policies set out in the student housing handbook, and to assist student residents with their residence life experience.

How to apply for Student Housing

Step 1: Apply for admissions to Pearl River Community College and be accepted.
Step 2: Retrieve your PRCC Student ID number (9*******).
Step 3: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and apply for financial aid.
Step 4: Read and understand the Cat Country Guide, student handbook and Guide to River Living, student housing handbook.
Step 5: Complete the Student Housing Application.
Step 6: Complete the admissions process by submitting applicable official transcripts and test scores.
Step 7: Attend ROAR Orientation and or/Register for Classes. First time entering fall dormitory students MUST attend a ROAR summer orientation session and register for classes.
Step 8: If you decide to cancel your housing application, please email mlmiller@prcc.edu at least three weeks prior to the first day of classes.
